VARSITY REUNION WEEKEND MEMORIES
The Annual Varsity Alumni Club Reunion Weekend was established in 1996 by Henry C. Bullough to welcome back to campus all varsity letter winners, their families, and friends each year. The weekend offers opportunities to participate in a variety of activities designed to renew old friendships and create new memories. Our goal is to have former MSU Varsity Letter Winners feel appreciated and remembered.During this reunion weekend the Varsity Alumni 'S' Club honors distinguished letter winners through the Jack Breslin, Nell C. Jackson, Henry C. Bullough and Clarence Munn Awards. Also honored with our Lifetime Coaches Award are coaches who have dedicated outstanding service and support to the athletic department and community. We also conduct our formal induction of honorary members in the Varsity Alumni 'S' Club and honor our 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 year anniversary letter winners. Joey Spano Fellowsip winner will also be honored.Many teams take the opportunity to use this weekend to come home and celebrate team reunions. In 2008, we celebrated during Homecoming Weekend and honor our past Olympians (Athletes, Coaches, Officials, and Trainers). Click here to view the complete list of MSU Olympians.The format of our Reunion Weekend changed in 2010. It is now being coordinated to tie in with the Varsity Letter Jacket Ceremony and Class of 2011 MSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Information on the exact dates will be posted and emailed to the membership as soon as the Athletic Department releases the dates.During reunion weekend Friday is now designated for teams to hold their own private dinners to celebrate their reunion. In 2011, we are planning a "Decades" Celebration: 1941, 1951, 1961, 1971, 1981, 1991, and 2001. If you would like to reunite with your teammates and you participated in a collegiate sport during the aforementioned years, please contact the S Club Office and we will assist you in setting up your celebration. We are looking for one male and one female team from each decade. More details to follow on our Decades Celebration. The Awards Brunch now takes place on Saturday 3.5 hours prior to kick-off in the Jenison Fieldhouse. We received very positive feedback on our 2010 Brunch - especially with the Football Team walking through our Brunch. We also hold our annual membership meeting during the Awards Brunch. Our Brunch is a great time to celebrate "us", young and old and to fellowship and get reacquainted with old friends and meet new ones. We celebrate our Award Winners and welcome our Class of 2011 Honorary Members. We look forward to seeing you in the Fall.2011 Varsity Alumni "S" Club Weekend reunion is TBD.
