HENRY BULLOUGH SERVICE AWARD - NOMINATION

Selection Procedure

• Alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of MSU may initiate nominations. Nominations should be submitted on nomination forms supplied by the MSU Varsity Alumni 'S' Club and submitted to the Awards Committee no later than December 31, 2008.
  

• Nomination forms may be submitted at any time. In order for a nomination form to be considered valid, it must be completed in its entirety, accompanied by at least two letters of support, and submitted to the Awards Committee, MSU Varsity Alumni 'S' Club, 276 Spartan Way, East Lansing, MI 48824.
  

• The Awards Committee, appointed by the Board of Directors of the Varsity Alumni 'S' Club, reviews nominations and recommends the award slate of candidates to the Board of Directors. Awards Committee members include a representative from Intercollegiate Athletics, the MSU Alumni Association, University Development and University Relations.
  

• If a nominee is not selected to receive an award this cycle, the nomination may be resubmitted in a subsequent award cycle. The Club maintains a file of past nominees for each award that may be reviewed by the Awards Committee in subsequent years.
  

Eligibility

• Earned a varsity letter from Michigan State University
  

• Active member in good standing of the MSU Varsity Alumni 'S' Club
  

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated continuing outstanding volunteer service and devotion to Michigan State University athletics on a local, state, national and/or international level.
  

• Possesses the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Michigan State University.
  

Conferring of Award

• The President of the MSU Varsity Alumni 'S' Club and/or the Chairperson of the Awards Committee will confer the award at the MSU Varsity Alumni 'S' Club 2008 Golf Outing banquet Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Forest Akers West Golf Course. The recipient of the award will also be recognized during Varsity Alumni 'S' Weekend activities October 2-4, 2008 (Homecoming Weekend).
  

• The recipient and those responsible for nominating him will be invited to attend the respective award presentations.

The Henry Bullough Service Award is presented annually to a MSU varsity letter winner who has demonstrated continuing outstanding volunteer service and devotion to Michigan State University athletics on a local, state, national or international level. Candidates must possess the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Michigan State University.
